Desiree and Ryan Fortin patiently waited for many years before finally turning to in vitro fertilization. They prayed to God for help in conceiving.
Not long after undergoing the IVF treatment, they finally received the news that Desiree was pregnant. However, the couple could never prepare for what lay ahead in her womb…
«It wasn’t just the inability to conceive,» she wrote about those difficult years. «[Infertility] brought more tears than I ever thought I could shed… I would lie on the bathroom floor in complete emptiness after countless negative pregnancy tests time and time again. I had to endure injections, bruises, and all sorts of medications because when you’re infertile and seeking fertility treatment, that’s what you face. [It’s] expensive and physically, emotionally, and mentally exhausting.»
So, you can imagine Desiree and Ryan’s elation when they were finally told that their first IVF treatment had worked.
And when they saw the ultrasound, they couldn’t believe that not just one, but three babies were growing! It turned out that the couple was expecting triplets – talk about success!
But the battle wasn’t over yet for Desiree and her family.
